The benefits of cacao are truly fantastic: it can improve your memory, increase your bliss, reduce heart disease, shed fat, boost immunity, and create loads of energy.
I used Hazelnuts on this recipe which are packed with a wide range of benefits. Including them in your diet helps reduce weight, they are gluten-free, and also good for your skin.
ENERGY BOOST SNACKS
1 cup roasted hazelnuts
1 cup pepitas
1 cup sunflower seeds
3 tbs. coconut oil
3 tbs. raw cacao powder
1 1⁄2 tbs. raw honey or 100% maple syrup
1 tsp. 100% vanilla extract
pinch of salt
What do you do?
Place all of the ingredients in a food processor and whiz for around 5 minutes on high speed until smooth. You’ll need to scrape the edges as you go.
Use the mixture to form individual rounded bites and place them in the fridge for an hour or until set.
short on time – use the mix as a sauce or top up fresh fruit and sprinkle some sheared coconut.
more substantial – Add your favourite protein powder.
more spice – cinnamon will bring some extra flavour.
